Genetics Male Fertility Group (GMF) was created with the objective to develop comprehensive and multidisciplinary research projects that broadly fall into the areas of reproductive biology and genetics. We are based at the campus of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (Spain).

GMF has a history longer than that of the group itself.  Some of us started our research adventure in the earlies 1980, under the leadership of Prof. Josep Egozcue (1940-2006) and more than 40 years later our journey continues.

GMF seeks to understand the fundamental cellular and molecular mechanisms that underpin basic biological processes related to male infertility, the origin of genomic disorders, and embryo chromosome abnormalities.  Our group uses a range of approaches to tackle these issues. In addition to investigations into basic science, we also conduct translational research and our work is facilitated by a network of collaborations.

Interrelated with our research, our goals include to catalyze the formation of post-graduates for successful scientific and professional careers. There is a range of study opportunities within the GMF linked to MSc courses as well as a dynamic PhD programme.
